Write Hard Live Free
Here at Wyandotte High School, there is a program called “Write Hard Live Free” and this program gives students the chance to be recognized for their writing. The program allows kids to write freely and in doing so, they are improving their writing skills.
There are many ways to see what is going on in the program; one is that there is a blog on Schooloop. The blogs are posted up can only be seen if you are a member of the group. If you want to see what the group is about, Ms. McGinty will give you a password to go and see or she can show it to you in the library.
If you want to be in “Write Hard Live Free,” all you have to do is give your name to Ms.Maginty, she will tell you everything about it and you can get on the web site and go to the meetings. When you join, she will need your email so that she can send you things that you will need to know about the group.
The meetings for the group are twice a month on no specific days. One meeting is usually on Wednesday after school for one hour. Others are during advisory. You do not need to show up to all the meetings. Not everyone shows up every day. Anybody can enter in the group; you do not have to be in a certain community, it does not matter since it is not a required activity. There is also going to be a staff writing group for the teachers. So now everyone in the school can have fun with writing.
Ms McGinty describes the group as, “This extra push that every writer needs to know that someone is there to support him or her, threw this experience.
This is a good program for everyone just to get away from everyday assigned writhing and write whatever you want. Also so, you can come and go as you please. If you think you might be interested in joining please come by. We would be more than happy to join you.
